I love helping high performing, excellent students become more high performing and excellent. Also, helping people become aware of their unique challenges, so they can avoid or overcome them, can be extremely important. When you become aware of your strengths and your weaknesses, you can set up the environment that helps you get the conditions you want. You can have any conditions you want if you set it up the right way. There’s the typical advice for doing this that includes keeping your phone on silent, using the Pomodoro technique, or switching up your work/study space so you set yourself up for maximum focus and productivity when you need it. These can work, but there’s something more to it. Part of our environment includes the people we interact with, the social media we come across, and the day-to-day routines that trigger our behaviour. Ask yourself: “What’s the environment that would allow for the conditions I want?” |
